Overview

The Nickel Cadmium Battery provides power either to the standby system or to start the auxiliary power unit. It is a nickel-cadmium tape with sintered and plastic bonded electrode plate construction and uses a potassium hydroxide electrolyte. The battery consists of a case and cover, 20 cell assemblies and a temperature sensor harness assembly. The sensor assembly includes a thermostat mounted on a plate against the face of the end cell of the center row of cells.
